The children are regarded as the god’s best gift to earth and they are the image of god. Children are always happy because they don’t have a file in their mind called “All the things that could go wrong”. In India the children’s day is celebrated on Nov 14th of every year on the birthday of India’s First Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.  He was very much fond of children and he was called as Chacha Nehru (Uncle Nehru) with all affection. Nehru saw the India’s future in the hands of children and youth. He was sure to nurture children India with great love and care. He established institutions like AIIMS, IIT to empower Indian youth with knowledge and power.

As a tribute to this great leader his birthday is celebrated as children’s day in India. Every school and institution in India will celebrate children’s day in a grand way with many cultural and social events. Many competitions are organized for children at national level to motivate children to compete. The State and the Central Government also make it a point to showcase children's films as part of Film festivals organized in many parts of the country.

Childhood is about the innocence and playfulness, it’s about joy and freedom.
