Sandeep is an Indian swimmer. He was born on January 23, 1989 in Delhi. His mother is very supportive to his swimming career. He took part in the 2008 Summer Olympics and contested in 100 m and 200 m breaststroke events but could not make up to the finals. He holds the national record in the 50 m, 100 m and 200 m breaststroke events. He has won silver medals at the Asian Indoor Games 2007 in the 50 m and 100 m breaststroke categories. He has completed his higher studies from St. Stephen’s College in Delhi. He is coached by Nihar Ameen. GoSports Foundation sponsors him. His performance at the 14th FINA World Championships held at Shanghai gave him the ticket to 2012 London Olympics.

He was trained by Dr Bhismaraj Bam before Olympics. He competed in three events in Olympics but failed to achieve. He also could not reach the finals of the 100 m and 200 m breaststroke events at the 2010 Asiad Juniors held at Beijing. He received the prestigious Arjuna Award from the Government of India for his talents in swimming in 2012.
