K. J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research (SIMSR), Mumbai was established in 1981 and is ranked 16th amongst all business schools in India (Business World dated June 2012)and ranked 17thamongst all business schools in India (Outlook 2012). It is an autonomous institute under the University of Mumbai from the academic year 2013-14.The Ph.D. program in management and several Post Graduate/Masters programmes in management affiliated to University of Mumbai and/or approved by AICTE. The institute is awarded the “Best Management Institute of the Year 2008” by Bombay Management association. Somaiya Vidyavihar aims to provide for its students, meaningful and relevant education that emphasizes both the liberal and professional aspects of higher education, steeped in rich Indian Culture and heritage and rooted in universal religious philosophies of the world.
