The State Government said that it will form its own education board on the lines of CBSE and NCERT. They want to change the board to ensure uniform improvement in all government schools.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manisha Sisodia met the principals of all the government schools at Thyagraj Stadium. The announcement was made during the interactive session.

The Kejriwal government said education is on their priority list. Their target is to make Delhi government schools better than private schools in five years. They also plan to improve the infrastructure of the government schools in the next one and a half years.

Meanwhile, the HRD Ministry has said that India is set to design its own system of higher educational institutions. It will be designed keeping in mind the Indian situation. The new system will stress on outcomes and that ranking of institutions should not be confused with accreditation that is already being done by National Assessment and Accreditation Council.

There are six groupings of outcomes on which similar institutions will be ranked. These will be academic performance, teaching-learning resources, graduation outcomes, global MoUs and impact/innovation by institutions.CII has offered to do the ranking.
