Swami Vivekananda:
Swami Vivekananda was born on January 12, 1863. He was born at Narendranath Dutta, Kolkatta. Hedied on 4 July 1902. He had been a great source of inspiration for theyoung Indian youths.
He emphasized yoga, meditation and abstinence while speakingout powerfully against the curse of poverty, prejudice and discrimination.
He was the main force behind the introduction of Indianphilosophies of Vedanta and Yoga to the western world.
He was credited with raising interfaith awareness, bringingHinduism to the status of a major world religion in the late 19th century.
TheNational Youth Day:-
The Government of India declared his birth anniversary as “Nationalyouth day” from 1984.
Many activities are organized on The National Youth Day inschools and colleges across India. His birth anniversary is celebrated withgreat joy and enthusiasm at many centres of the Ramakrishna Math andRamakrishna Mission. It is also observed by various NGOs.
The main motto of the national youth day is to encourage andinspire the youth of the country to embark on a successful journey.
Swami Vivekananda’s Interesting Speech:
Swami Vivekananda had created history by his soul-stirringaddress at World Parliament of Religions in Chicago. He had said, "Itfills my heart with joy unspeakable to rise in response to the warm and cordialwelcome which you have given us. I thank you in the name of the most ancientorder of monks in the world. I thank you in the name of the mother of religionsand i thank you in the name of millions and millions of Hindu people of allclasses and sects."
