Ministry of Education Republic of Liberia

Mission:

               The mission of the Ministry of Education is to provide quality education for all and prepare future leaders who are capable of handling the task of nation building, protecting our national heritage and enhancing the socio-economic growth and development for the sustenance of the Liberian state.

The statutory mandates of the Department of Instruction in accordance with the 2011 Education Reforms Act are as follows:

-Develop and implement programs for Early Childhood Education

-Develop and implement programs for Basic and senior Secondary Education

-Develop and implement programs for Teachers Training Education

-Develop and implement programs for the teaching of Liberian study (language, culture, customs, etc.

-Develop and implement programs for the teaching of Vocational and Technical Education and a comprehensive career development Program, in collaboration with the Department of Planning, Research and Development and the Ministry of Youth and Sports

-Collaborate with the Department of Planning, Research and Development to ensure that the contents, materials and pedagogy of the various levels of the national educational system are in consonance with the policies, programs and standards of the Ministry.
