Sree Narayana College, Alathur, affiliated to the University of Calicut, was established by the Sree Narayana Trusts in 1970 to fulfill the long felt need of the people of Alathur to have a full-fledged college to meet the rising demand for greater facilities in the field of higher education. The glorious venture of Sree Narayana Trusts and the initiative of philanthropists like Sri. K.C. Pazhanimala and Sri. C.V. Muthuvelan helped in tackling the major problem of higher education in backward places like Alathur.
