About University

Tezpur University was established by an Act of Parliament in 1994. The objects of this Central University as envisaged in the statutes are that it shall strive to offer employment oriented and interdisciplinary courses to meet the regional to national aspirations and the development of the state of Assam and also offer courses and promote research in areas which are of special and direct relevance to the region and in the emerging areas in Science and Technology.

vision for Tezpur University which I hope to implement with the total commitment of the teachers and non-teaching staff of the University. Let us never forget that our students are our raison d'etre. Our goal is to see that Tezpur University shines in all areas of academic excellence. Administrative efficiency is another very important goal. It is vital that we get our priorities right in order to make Tezpur University one of the best in the Northeast region, and eventually, in the entire country....
