Most probably names like Adolf Hitler, Mussolini. But they are far better than this evil killer. To your surprise the killer is Mosquito. Yes mosquitoes are thought to have killed half the number of people that have ever lived. Pretty scary, isn’t it?
Mosquitoes transmit diseases like dengue fever, Zika, yellow fever, encephalitis and malaria. And so it's very much needed that we abolish breeding of mosquito around our living environment to safe guard our self.
World Mosquito Day, observed annually on 20 August, is a commemoration of British doctor Sir Ronald Ross's discovery in 1897 that female mosquitoes transmit malaria between humans.
Let's not get bitten tips:
Prevent mosquitoes from entering your home by making sure your window and door screens are in good repair and are tightly attached.
Mosquitoes lay their eggs in still water. Reduce mosquito breeding places in your yard by emptying, covering, or treating any items that hold water.
Empty or treat any items that hold water, such as flower pots, birdbaths, swimming pool covers, buckets, cans, and barrels.
Clean rain gutters, leaves in downspouts, and pooled water on flat roofs.
Remove unused tires and other items that could collect water.
Remove containers that may hold water in places that are hard to see, such as under bushes, porches, decks, or stairs
Put on lots of insect repellent before you go out - don't forget your feet and ankles or the back of your neck
Wear clothes that cover most of you (loose clothes are best, as mosquitoes can bite through tight jeans!)
Do not sit near still water
