Started in 2002, Asan Memorial College of Engineering & Technology (AMCET) is the 7th addition to the Asan Group of Educational Institutions. Located in Chengalpet, AMCET's college campus is spread over 45 acres of pollution free land with picturesque hills and valley forming the backdrop which provides for an ideal healthy setting for learning and living.
AMCET is a coeducational, non-denominational institution offering education to Students in Engineering and Technology programs, which is dedicated to creating tomorrow's leaders and supporting today's pioneers. The college is approved by AICTE and is affiliated to the Anna University, Chennai.
The College will, in subsequent years commence courses in the other traditional engineering branches and also in new emerging engineering disciplines. AMCET will also offer post graduate courses in techno-managerial subjects in addition to engineering disciplines. The College further aims at establishing a centre for research, training and consultancy in techno-managerial areas in collaboration with national/international institutions.
The mission of the College is to achieve excellence through high quality and need based education with focus on superior technical competence and development of individual potential. The courses offered will be contemporary in nature and directly relevant to the emerging technological and market scenario. The College will provide a conducive and stimulating environment which will lead to academic excellence, character formation and development of individual talents and abilities. The College aims at developing as a Center of Excellence in engineering education, both at the basic and advanced levels.
