Annu Raj Singh is an Indian shooter from Aligarh. She along with Heena Sidhu won the gold medal in women's Pairs 10 metre air pistol at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in both the 10 metre air pistol and the 25 metre pistol. She was born on February 17, 1984 in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. Her father is Dr. S. P. Singh and mother’s name is Meera Singh and her elder brother’s name is Amit Raj Singh. Her mother was a state level shooter and her brother is a national level shooter. Her father also had participated in the national level shooting competitions and worked as a consultant in the J. N. Medical College at Aligarh Muslim University. She completed her graduation in Political Science in 2006 from Women’s College of Aligarh Muslim University.
She is affiliated with Gun for Glory Academy and
Pune University Club. She was coached by Sunny Thomas. She originally wanted to
become a doctor like her father but entered the game of shooting. She won
silver medal in the ISSF World Cup tournament held in USA and got a place for
her in the Olympics. She is sponsored by Olympic Gold Quest. In 2012, She
received the Arjuna Award.
