Poulomi Ghatak is an Indian sportswoman who plays the game of table tennis. Poulomi Ghatak was born on 3rd January 1983 in Kolkata in West Bengal. Her father’s name is Subhash Chandra Ghatak. Poulomi studied at the Nava Nalanda High School, and later at the Jogamaya Devi College, of the University of Calcutta. Her father always supported her to practice the game. She practices regularly at the Tollygunge Baisakhi Sangha. She started playing the game in 1992 at her age of 9. She knows to speak Bengali, Hindi and English.
She represented India in the Asian Table Tennis Championships at Korea, in Russian Open, in Toyota Cup at Japan, in German and Polish Open, 15th Asian Games at Doha and Brazil and Chile Open in 2006. She also played at the World Table Tennis Championships at Croasia, in Golden Racket Championships held at Vietnam and in International Open Tournament at Indonesia held in 2007. She also represented the nation in Austria, France and German Open held in the same year. She has won many awards and honors for her talented performance. In 2009, She received the Arjuna Awrad.
