Rahul Banerjee is an Indian Olympic archer. He was born on 15 December 1986 in Kolkata, India. He started practicing the game of archery at his age of thirteen and made his first international appearance in the Youth World Championship in 2004 where he won the silver medal in the team events. This the first ever medal by an Indian in international level tournament in the game of archery. He has won gold medals at World Cup Archery consecutively for three times from 2008 to 2010. He also won the Individual Gold Medal in the Asian Grand Prix in 2009 and 2010. He won gold medal in the men's individual recurve event and bronze medal in the team event in the Commonwealth Games 2010 held at Delhi. He also won bronze medal in team event in the 16th Asian Games held in 2010 at Guangzhou in China. He received the prestigious Arjuna Award for his sporting talents from the Government of India in 2011.
