Cherie Blair (born 23 September 1954) is a British barrister. She is married to the former prime minister, Tony Blair.In 2008 she launched her foundation the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, a development organisation that aims to support women entrepreneurs in developing countries. "Our mission is to provide women with the skills, technology, networks and access to capital that they need to become successful small and growing business owners, so that they can contribute to their economies and have a stronger voice in their societies," says its mission statement.She received Common Wealth Award of Distinguished Service in 2011 for Public Service category.
