Victor Ambros (born 1953) is an American developmental biologist who discovered the first known microRNA (miRNA). He is a professor at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts.She received Dr. Paul Janssen Award for Biomedical Research in 2012 for their collaborative discovery of microRNAs (miRNAs) as central regulators of gene expression and development.
