Arijit Singh is an Indian playback singer and a music programmer. He was born on April 25, 1987 in Jiaganj, Murshidabad, West Bengal, India. He completed his schooling from a private school in Murshidabad, West Bengal. Arijit Singh also worked with TIPS music industry in 2006-2007. He also worked with a music director trio Shankar Ehsaan Loy in the same year. He has also sung a title track “Hum Hai Deewane” of the Indian television show “Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon”. He started singing in Bollywood films in 2011. Arijit Singh first Bollywood song is “Phir Mohabbat” from the movie “Murder 2” in 2011. Then he sang various songs for different movies like “Jhoom Jhoom Ta Hun Main” for the movie “Players”, “Uska Hi Bana” for the movie “1920 – Evil Returns” and “Duaa” for the movie “Shanghai” in 2012. Singh has received many awards and honors, including a Filmfare Award, an IIFA Award, a Zee Cine Award and two Screen Awards. He received most awards and nominations for the song "Tum Hi Ho" in Aashiqui 2 (2013); nine awards from ten nominations for this song. In 2016, he received the Best Male Playback Singer Filmfare Award for Sooraj Dooba Hain from Roy.
