Aleida Assmann (born March 22, 1947 in Gadderbaum, (now Bielefeld)) is a German professor of English, Egyptology, Literary and Cultural Studies.She received Dr A.H. Heineken Prize for History in 2014 for her ground-breaking contribution to the study of the ‘cultural memory’ of nations and other types of human communities.
