Benjamin Cleary is an Irish writer, director and producer from Dublin. He is best known for his short-film Stutterer that earned him an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film at the 88th Academy Awards with producer Serena Armitage. Raised in a house where kids were encouraged to draw on bedroom walls, Ben was conjuring up madcap stories and characters from a very young age. Benjamin graduated at University College Dublin and after he moves to England, where he completed his Screenwriting MA from London Film School. In 2015 Ben wrote and directed his first short film, Stutterer. At time of writing Stutterer has been accepted into 14 international film festivals including Vancouver International Film Festival, Encounters Short Film & Animation Festival and Rhode Island International Film Festival.
