Bapatla is a Municipal town in Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is located 27 miles (43 km) south of Guntur City and was formerly known as Bhavapuri and Bhavapatla. The name Bhavapuri was evolved from the deity of Bhavanarayana swamy temple located in the town.
