BINESWAR BRAHMA ENGINEERING COLLEGE

About Institution

In the year 2006, the Govt. of Assam declared that an Engineering College would be set up at Kokrajhar. Accordingly after two years of the decision, the foundation stone of the college was laid by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on 16th August 2008 at Chandrapara, a village around 7 km away from Kokrajhar town. The college was named after Bineswar Brahma i.e. Bineswar Brahma Engineering College (BBEC)

Bineswar Brahma was an eminent member of the Bodo Community. He was a very active social worker who had to sacrifice his life for the development of Bodo community. He is known as "Subungthini Thandwi" among Bodos.
