C.S.I. Bishop Appasamy College of Education is situated in Coimbatore in the C.S.I. Compound, in prime location in the city. Coimbatore has been called the Manchester of South India because of its flourishing textile industry. It is also said to be blessed with a mild & pleasant climate and is acclaimed to have the World’s second tastiest drinking water, supplied by the river Siruvani.


This college of education is the latest offshoot of the Coimbatore Diocese, which comprises seven revenue districts in South West region of TamilNadu. Some of its educational institutions such as C.S.I. Girls’ School(former Maather Kalvi Nilayam) C.S.I. Boys’ School(former Union High School) have rendered invaluable service to God and Society for over a century.

The diocese, apart from its many other ministries, offers excellent educational service through its many institutions. Such a vast number of institutions require well-trained teachers to offer quality education, along with Christian nurture. With this ideal in view, the C.S.I. Bishop Appasamy College of Education was envisaged and became another milestone in the faith-journey of the diocese in 2007. The college has been approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the national apex body and Tamil nadu Teachers Education University, Chennai, its regional academic authority.
