The state of the law in India appears to have attracted some media attention, especially after the President compared courts to casinos. This book is about the first of these standards which recommends scrapping old and dysfunctional legislation. Old statutes can be both Central and State-level and State-level statutes are yet impossible to obtain. There are an estimated 25,000 statutes at the state level and around 2,500 and 3,000 at the central level. This book catalogues old and dysfunctional Central statutes, as well as individual sections. This book is targeted not for the specialist but for the average Indian citizen.
