Padmashri Dr. B. SIVANTHI ADITYAN?was?the Founder of Dr. Sivanthi Aditanar College of Engineering. He was a renowned Educationist, an enterprising Industrialist, a News Paper Baron of high repute, a Sports Personality cum Sports Administrator and a quiet and unassuming philanthropist. He was the former President of the Indian Olympic Association for ten years and Sheriff of Madras for two years in 1982 and 1983. He was the life President of the Indian Olympic Association, Swimming Federation of India, President of Volleyball Federation of India, Tamil Nadu Olympic Association of India, Tamil Nadu Shooting Association, Honorary Vice President of International Volley Ball Federation, Vice President of National Rifle Association of India, Honorary Secretary of Rifle Club, member in Board of the Administration for International Volley Ball Federation and the Vice President of the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu. He was also the Chairman for the Sun Paper Mills Ltd., Miot Hospitals Ltd and India Cements Capital & Finances Ltd., He was the Director of the Daily Thanthi, a leading Newspaper and also had also made outstanding contribution to the field of education. Dr. Adityan has been conferred with Honorary doctorates by Madurai Kamaraj University, Annamalai University, Manonmanium Sundranar University, University of Madras and the Tamil Nadu Sports & Physical Education University. Dr. Adityan has served the Senate & Syndicate members of four universities namely, Madurai Kamaraj University, Annamalai University, Bharathidasan University and the University of Madras. He was appointed as Member of Planning Board of Dr.M.G.R. Medical University and Manonmanium Sundranar University.
