Dayanand Model Sr. Sec. School, Dayanand Nagar, Jalandhar managed by the DAV College Managing Committee, New delhi is the oldest institution of the area and the very first DAV Public School. The foundation stone of the school was laid on 26th October, 1913 by a staunch Arya Samajist and freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai. The school is housed on a piece of land measuring 20 acres. It has 102 rooms besides Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Math, Computer Labs, Dance Room, Music Rooms , Art Rooms and Activity Rooms. Extensive playgrounds are pride of the school. In the beginning, it was Basic school. From the year 1963, the school named Dayanand Model Sr. Sec. School, Dayanand Nagar, Jalandhar started imparting instructions on Public School Lines. The education in the school is an amalgamation of the ancient Vedic values of contemporary scientific temperament. Along with the intellectual development the traditional Indian values are promoted with due emphasis on virtue of competence, creativity and inculcation of scientific outlook and aesthetic appreciation. The ever escalating board results are a testimony of our hard work. The constant endeavour of D.M.S is to reach the acme of excellence and as we aim for the sky we strengthen our roots by replenishing them with hard work, determination and preservance.
