Deshbandhu Vidyalaya (Boys') Hindi Medium, sitting in the lap of Chittaranjan, is one of the various schools run by CLW under the Ministry of Railways, Govt. of India. The school has its genesis almost with the very inception of Chittaranjan Locomotive Works. It came into existence as a twin of Deshbandhu Vidyalaya (Boys) Bengali Medium affiliated to WBBSE. Ever since its inception, the school has seen many ups and downs, upsurge & upheavals throughout the passage of time. A lot of students have earned laurels in different walks of life both in India & abroad.
Under stress of circumstances, the school, for the benefit of the students & in tune with the call of time, parted its ways with D.V.(Boys)BM & shifted its affiliation from WBBSE to CBSE from 1992. Ever since it switched over to CBSE, the school has never looked back. It has been galloping with flying colours and radiating the light of knowledge, enabling the youngsters making excellent careers in different fields and creating scintillating history for the school and hence for CLW as well.
Equipped almost with all modern facilities, the school, situated in the area of about 5 acres, is infra-structurally sound and has a galaxy of qualified and devoted teachers. Students, teachers & staff of the school co-operate each other and create a harmonious atmosphere for education to flourish. Really, this school is a temple of learning.
To cater to the educational needs of primarily CLW employees so that they may contribute to the work of nation-building with mind free from anxiety about having the education of their wards.
