Constitutional amendment bill for goods and services tax (GST). Will it affect states revenues?

Hemamalini posted 4 years ago
The Indian government moved a Constitutional Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha to roll out goods and services tax (GST). Finance minister told, 'biggest tax reform since 1947' and the states, however, will continue to levy taxes on alcohol as is the practice now. Entry tax will be subsumed in the GST.
Will it affects the revenues of states?

how did you say like that? states have that fear of course. but finance minister told "The new Bill also has provision of compensation to state governments for initial years on account of revenue loss due to introduction of GST."
