Education Department provides financial assistance in the form of Grant-In-Aid to recognized schools. 36 recognized private schools out of which 27 in Pondicherry and 8 in Karaikal region and 1 in Yanam region are benefited under the Grant-in-Aid Scheme.

Vision:   

 As education is the basic prerequisite to build a just, equitable, and civil society and a basic tool for the development of the individual, the society and the nation, the vision of the department is to offer quality education aiming all round development at all levels in general and to provide 100% access, enrolment, and retention at upper primary and secondary levels in particular.
