“Kambal Vitran Shivir”-A Social Initiative On 30 th December

The ECS Committee of IITM organized a “Kambal Vitran Shivir” as a social initiative towards Class-IV workers. The motive of the initiative was to provide basic clothing requirement to cope with the low environmental temperatures and chilling weather.
The distribution of blankets took place in the premises of the Institute, where in all the Class IV workers assembled. The ceremony was presided over by the Vice-Chairman (IITM), Shri Rakesh Sharma, Society Representative (member), Mrs Seema Sharma as well as Director (IITM), Prof(Dr) Rachita Rana.
This endeavor by the institute enthralled upon the students and the staff, the importance and need of being socially responsible and was also aimed in particular at helping the Class-IV workers. The institute’s participation in this noble cause is one in the line of many such other social causes that the institute undertakes from time to time for the betterment & upliftment of the society.
