Blood Donation Camp On 13 th February

National Service Scheme Unit of St. John College of Engineering and Technology (Master of Management Studies Department) organized a Blood Donation Camp on 13th February 2014 from 2 p. m. onwards. It was held at St. John Technical Campus, Palghar.


There was a huge turnout for this noble cause. About 105 candidates were able to donate blood as the donors went through a series of primary medical check - ups before donating blood. The main objective of this blood donation camp was to make our Staff and students aware of the good deed of saving a life just by donating 350 ml of blood. This Blood Donation drive was held keeping in mind the constant need for blood in and around Palghar.



A DONOR's card was provided to the Donors to facilitate them with an extraordinary service of getting blood units (of any blood group) whenever required for their immediate family members from the Maharashtra Blood Bank (Our Associate for Donation Camp) for a period of one year. Each Donor was awarded a certificate of appreciation for this great service to humanity. Besides this, the campus can avail of 20% organizer quota of Blood in case of need.

Mr. Romil Vajani of MMS II year gave a brief outline of the blood donation drive. Dr. Satish N. Takalikar (Principal, St. John College of Engineering and Technology) along with Mr. Thomas Lobo (Dean, MMS Department) inaugurated the camp.Mr. Thomas Lobo thanked all those who were actively involved in preparing for the event and especially the Admin. staff, NSS Programme Officer for organising such an event.



We are grateful to Dr. Rajendra Chawhan, Chairman – Maharashtra Blood Bank and Dr. Jayawant Gaade – Managing Director – Maharashtra Blood Bank for their whole hearted support along with their Team of Nurses and Technicians. NSS Volunteers played an important role in facilitating the camp and others MMS, Engineering, Pharmacy and hospitality colleges Volunteers made it a grand success.
