Government Degree College for Women,Kathua

About Institution

The college started with a mere strength of 10 students in the premises of the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, near Ram Lila Ground, Kathua in the year 2005. Then with the increase in the strength of the students due to introduction of new subjects, the college was shifted to new premises of the prefabricated structure of the Girls Hostel of the Government Degree College Kathua. Then chief minister, Jenab Ghulam Nabi Azad, has inaugurated the new campus of the college on 3rd of June 2008 near Govt. Higher Secondary School(Boys) Kathua. The first batch of six students appeared in final examination of B.A. and college attained 100% result with one position.
