Government First Grade College Kampli, was established in the year 1987 to provide quality higher education to the youth residing in semi urban Kampli. It is affiliated to Vijayanagara Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Bellary which offers degree programmes in BA, B.Com, and BBM. Student’s strength of the college is 412 with 08 highly qualified teaching staff. The college which started functioning from a small rented house was later on shifted to its own premises in 1996. Now it has a spacious well ventilated beautiful building surrounded by lush greenery. The college aims to provide education which will prepare the youth to face the challenges of life and career in this modern globalised world.
The college has a vibrant cultural and academic life. Each department sponsors extra-curricular activities; in general it tries to stimulate interest in the subject. There are many academic and cultural associations covering a wide range of activities, such as debating, dramatics, and social service. The College provides ample facilities for development of an integrated personality. It has a fine library containing more than Fifteen thousand books.
The College awards a number of prizes to students for high achievement in academic and extra-curricular activities. Scholarships and other financial aid are given to deserving students on the basis of need-cum-merit. The college has a history of more than 25 years. But consistent commendable results and excellent performance of the students in the past years has enabled the college to attract a growing number of students from the socially and economically weaker sections of the society.
