About Institution

The polytechnic, Bidar was established in 1960 with a provision of 3 diploma courses of three years duration in Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering with a total intake of 90 students. And short-term courses of One year duration in Wireman ship, Motor-winding works and Pump mechanism are also provided in this institution. In 1983 Automobile course was started with an intake of 30 students and in 1984 two more courses viz. Telecommunication and Commercial Practice were started with an intake of 40 students each. This is the only institute which is providing Higher and technical education to the poorer & backward students since 1960 in this district.
