Government Training College, Hooghly, established in 1955, made a very rapid progress since its inception. It is a first grade teacher's Training College in West Bengal with NCTE recognition that has spread its fame far and wide. The river Ganges in front of this college has added to its scenic beauth. This College is approximately 40 kms from Kolkata and 3 kms. from Bandel Station. This institution boasts of a glorious history in both academic and cultural sphere. It is also well equipped with rich Library, Science laboratories, Computer lab, spacious students Hostel and infrastructure for indoor and outdoor games and so on. This college has also been upgraded as College for Teacher Education (CTE) by Ministry of H. R. D. Govt. of India.
