About Institution

The Govt.Arts College, Srikakulam, the first and foremost college in the district was established in 1951 vide G.O.M.S.No1887 of the Madras government. It was granted affliliation by the Madras University as Arts college, Grade II with the introduction of the Intermediate courses in 1951 and later upgraded to Govt Degree college in 1954. With the introduction of under graduate courses.Our college has been Accredited by NAAC with B++ The college has its humble beginning, located in temporary sheds in 1951 and carried on thus until 1962 when it acquired its new look within permanent buildings, paving the way for its historic role in the dissemination of education in this remote,backward and beautuiful north coastal region of Andhra Pradesh.

To introduce new programs under U.G and P.G courses to meet the needs of the society.
To empower faculty members with high qualifications to address the needs of the students according to the new trends and developments.
To provide infrastructure facilities like more number of class rooms, well equipped laboratories, e-class rooms for the introduction of new courses, using modern technologies.
