The Government Degree College was established in 1993 in Huzurabad town initially in the Government Junior College premises as a Co-educational institution by the relent less efforts of Sri.V.Rajeshwar Rao, Ex-M.P. Sri.K.Sai Reddy, Ex-M.L.A and other Public Representatives of that times with single Course B.A. with History, Economics and Political Science optionals in Telugu medium .In 1996-97 B.Com course in Telugu medium was introduced and consequently B.Sc course with Botany, Zoology and Chemistry and Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry groups in Telugu medium were sanctioned in the academic year 1998-99.
