About Jaggayyapeta ( latitude: 16.8938000, longitude: 80.0980700 )
Jaggayyapeta was named after Jaggayya, (died 1771) the ruler of Chintapalli, Krishna district, India, from 1763-1771. The original name was Bethavolu. The place is famous for a Buddhist Stupa built during Satavahana Dynasty (200 BC). Several inscriptions were found during excavation of the Stupa remains.
