About Institution

The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Mathurapur, District S. 24 Pgs. was established in 05-11-2009 and started functioning in a temporary site. The complex is in the mass education centre at Mathurapur has an administrative block and residential block along with the playgrounds, Much efforts is being taken for maintenance of the entire complex which now gives much facility to all the students in this Vidyalaya to have a free movement, games, yoga, P.T. parade etc. all within the school campus. Now the Vidyalaya is having 27 students and has 16 staff (both teaching and non-teaching) members.

The Vidyalaya has been working under Ministry of Human Resource Development in the Department of Higher Education & School Education, Government of India. The Vidyalaya is co-educational residential school fully financed by the Government of India through an autonomous Organization, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.

The Vidyalaya is basically to encourage and promote talent predominantly from rural areas and weaker sections of the district and to provide them with quality modern education for their all-round development.

The Vidyalaya is a model of pace-setter institution in the district and is a resource center for promotion of excellence.

To promote quality education by optimum utilization of available resources in the Vidyalaya and from neighboring community.
To Inculcate dignity of labour among the children by involving them in various socially useful productive works.
To develop the value based education through continuous guidance and counseling from the staff and experts from other organizations.
To strive for the academic excellence through the integration of computer technology in the teaching learning process to realize the objective of Samiti.
To create congenial atmosphere by way of beautification and infrastructure development in the campus.
To generate homely atmosphere by streamlining house system and inculcating inter personal relationship among the students.

Mission

To imbibe communal Harmony among the children through morning assembly and all religious prayer in the evening.
To develop the sprit of scientific enquiry among the children by assigning suitable projects during vacations.
To promote National Integration by cultural exchange, realizing the importance migration policy set by the Samiti.
To acquaint the rural talented children with modern and latest changes in the teaching learning process.
