About Institution

Jagadguru Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji had a foresight that if women were given professional education, a strong nation could be built. Such a vision led to the initiation of a Polytechnic exclusively for women in Mysore in 1980. The polytechnic is in the premises of the JSSTechnical Institutions’ Campus and has a commendable infrastructure supported with full fledged staff ,state- of- the- art laboratory and library. The Polytechnic which started with just two courses has 8 professional courses with a total strength 900 students to suit the demands and trends of the modern world. The Institution attained grant in aid status 1983 and has been receiving grants from the government since then.

Mission

To create and foster a progressive learning environment through development–appropriate technical education for women from varied economical and social background, to become Diploma Professionals who can cater to the requirements of the present liberalized world at supervisory and managerial levels, without foregoing the indigenous cultural values.
