About Institution

Kendriya Vidyalaya, CRPF, Avadi was started in 1978 under Civil Sector. Fifteen acres of land has been provided by CRPF.

The school was initially run in a barrack given by CRPF inside the land given by them. Mr.N.S.Vasudevan,IPS was the first Chairman ,VMC and the school was managed by Mr.M.T.Sivarama Subramanian, the In-Charge Principal in the beginning.

A new school building was constructed by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and the foundation stone for the new building was laid by Mr.P.G.Halarnkar,IPS cum Director General, CRPF on 28.4.1989.

The new school building was inaugurated by His Excellency Dr.M.Channa Reddy, the then Governor of Tamil Nadu on 24.08.1993. Earlier eleven staff-quarters were constructed in 1988.

During the period from 1984 to 1995, many teachers have produced excellent results in academics under the leadership of Mr.G.Chacko,Principal.

The Web Site of this school was inaugurated by Mr. Nainamali, Principal on 22.12.2005.

Mission

To cater to the educational needs of children of transferable Central Government employees including defence and para military personnel by providing a common programme of education.To pursue excellence and set the pace in the field of school education.
To initiate and promote experimentations and innovations in education in collaboration with other bodies like CBSE, NCERT, etc. To develop the spirit of national integration and create a sense of “Indianness” among children.
