K.N.M. Government Arts & Science College is located at Kanjiramkulam, the southernmost region in Kerala state, near the coastal area of Neyyattinkara Taluk in Thiruvananthapuram district, the capital of Kerala. In the early days of the twentieth century Southern areas of Thiruvananthapuram was a region of socially, economically and educationally backward people. Though there are schools in the neighbourhood which have more than five decades of standing the facilities for higher education were lacking and student had to go to Thiruvananthapuram for higher education.A galaxy of selfless workers, far sighted men, social activists, social cultural and religious organizations under the banner of Kanjiramkulam Pradesika Sabha (Kanjiramkulam Regional Assembly) lead by Sri. M Kunjukrishnan Nadar, a prominent social worker and Ex. M.L.A was is the fore front of all round development of the village.
