Kumaon Public School (KPS) is a CBSE affiliated, co-ed English medium senior secondary school located on NH 87 E at Malli Mirai, Tehsil Dwarahat, about 25 Kms from Ranikhet, Uttarakhand. The school is the brain child of Shri Pooran Singh Rana, its founder, an eminent Educationist from Malli Mirai, with over 40 years of teaching and administrative experience, both in India and abroad. He has served as teaching faculty at Sainik School Chittorgarh, Rajasthan and Sainik School Ghorakhal, Nainital. He was also the Principal of a number of prestigious senior secondary schools located at both Delhi and New Delhi including NDMC Navyug School, Sarojini Nagar, prior to setting up Kumaon Public School.

The school is spread over an area of approximately two acres and is located in the midst of the verdant hills of Malli Mirai, surrounded by pine and oak forests, which lend it a natural, peaceful and serene outlook.


The campus consists of a three storied main building comprising classrooms, multipurpose hall, library and laboratories; all constructed strictly as per CBSE specifications. In addition, classrooms and laboratories are spread over two double storied buildings adjacent to the main building with the Kindergarten section housed in one of them. A staff room building and conveniences for both boys and girls are also located adjacently.
