Smt. L & C Mehta Arts College was established in 1953. And formerly known as GLS Arts College, is a 60 year old institution and has been declared the Best Reputed Old College by the University Grants Commission. It is part of the Gujarat Law Society which manages 37 institutions and is the largest educational complex in the State. The college is affiliated to Gujarat University and imparts higher education in humanities with seven major subjects and two subsidiary subjects. Ours is a Gujarati Medium college and this has Reload students who have studied through the regional medium as specially students from the rural areas and industrial belt arrounding Ahmedabad and those from the disadvantaged groups.
