Established in 1926, the Little Flower Convent Higher Secondary School for the Blind is run by the Sisters of the I.C.M. congregation. The school aims at developing the basic skills and talents of wards through holistic education.
The facilities provided to students include walkman, tape recorders and taped lessons and readers. Scribes assist students to prepare and write for their exams. Braille instructors give slow learners special help after class hours.
Their other programmes include the once-a-week session for parents of day scholars to help their children at home. Vocal music and Instrumental music - Violin, Piano, Flute, Tabla and Clarinet are also taught.
Little Flower Convent for the BlindAn outstanding feature is that the school has recorded hundred per cent results in both the X and XII standard board examinations since its inception.
The school is aided by the Government of Tamil Nadu and functions under the Social Welfare Department.
