Loyola Public School is managed and administered by the members of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). Two names will go down in history as pioneers of Loyola Public School, Guntur. Late Rt. Rev. Ignatius Mummadi, Bishop of Guntur, Catholic Diocese endeavored and brought the Jesuits to Guntur in order to start a school. He mustered the services of Fr.T.Balaiah, S^.J. to acquire the necessary land.
Commissioned to go ahead with the project, Rev.Fr.Papaiah the pioneer and the chief architect of the School made Loyola Public School a reality with the help of Rev.Br.Stanislaus, S.J. The foundation stone of this, the second Jesuit Educational Institution in Andhra Pradesh was laid in the afternoon of Thursday, 30th January, 1964 by the then Chief Minister of the State Dr.N.Sanjeeva Reddy. Rev. Fr. L. D. Murphy, S.J. became the first Principal of the school which began formally on the 13lh July, 1964 with an auspicious number of 13 boys.
The mission of the school is to train its students in the finest tradition of Jesuit education which acknowledges God as the author of all reality, all truth and knowledge.
The school aims to impart a sound intellectual formation which includes a growing ability to reason reflectively, logically and critically. It aims at the development of the whole person in which process the criterion of excellence apply to all areas of school life contributes to the total growth of each student as a responsible member of the school community and of the larger society of the state and of our country.
