Matha College of Teacher Education is run by Matha Memorial Education Trust. The College provides B.Ed., Degree Course (one year). Matha College of Teacher Education is situated in Vaanpuram, Manamadurai, Sivagangai District, Tamil Nadu, which is 45 kilometers away from Madurai city in Tamil Nadu. Manamadurai can be reached either by bus or train. Buses ply trips to Manamadurai from all prominent towns in Tamil Nadu. If travel by train get down at Manamadurai Railway Station. Matha College of Teacher Education is recognized by National Council For Teacher Education (NCTE) SRC, Bangalore Vide order No APSO 3870, F.TN / B.Ed / SEC / SRO / NCTE / 2006-07 / 7215 / Dated 11.08.2006 and was earlier affiliated to Alagappa University, Karaikudi, Sivagangai District, Tamil Nadu vide its order No ALU / CDC / AC-25 – B.Ed College / 2006 dated 04.10.2006 with annual intake of 100 students. From the year 2009, it is affiliated to The Tamilnadu Teachers Education University, Chennai, TamilNadu. vide its order No. TNTEU / R / Affln.- contn/ 2011/ 321 dated 09.06.2011.
