Admission Procedure
: 1. Admission
The candidates seeking admission to any of the courses shall obtain the prescribed application form from the College and shall subunit the duly filled form to the Principal of College of Nursing along with the Certificate of Medical fitness from an authorized Medical officer stating that the candidate is physically fit to undergo the selected course.
2. Selection
The selection of the candidate will be as per the procedure recommended by the Govt. from time to time. ONLY FEMALE CANDIDATES ARE SELECTED TO JOIN THE COURSES in B.Sc., (N) and DGNM.
All the Candidates selected to join the course shall submit their necessary Original Certificates at the time of Admission.
The certificates shall be returned only after the completion of the course and Internship period
3. Medical Certificate
Every candidate before admission to this programme shall submit to the Principal to the Institution a certificate of Medical Fitness by an authorized Medical Officer that the candidate is physically fit to undergo the Academic Programme.
4. Enrollment
The candidates selected are expected to enroll their names in T.N. Dr.M.G.R. Medical University with 7 days of Admission by remitting the prescribed fees along with the application form.
5. Registration
The candidate admitted shall register with the Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University by remitting the prescribed fee along with the application form for Registration duly filled in and forwarded to the University through the Head of Institution within the stipulated date.
6. Medium of Instruction
The medium of instruction is English for all the subjects of study and for examination for DGNM & B.Sc., Nursing Courses.
7. Curriculum
The Curriculum and the syllabi for the courses shall be as prescribed by the Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University and Indian Nursing Council from time to time.
8. Payment of fees
The candidates are expected to pay the fees fixed from time to time within the cut off dates. The delay in fee remittance will attract fine. The fees once paid shall not be returned under any circumstances.
9. College Working Hours
The college functions full day from Monday to Friday & half –a- day on 1st & 3rd Saturdays and the working hours are from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m on all working days. Second and Fourth Saturdays of every month are observed as holidays.
10. Attendance
A candidate is required to secure a minimum of 80% of attendance in both theory and practical separately in each subject before admission to the examination.
11. Uniform
The students are required to wear the prescribed uniform during their clinical experience and for the classes.
12. Discontinuation
Candidates who want to discontinue will be subjected to abide with the rules of the College enforce from time to time.
13. Vacation and leave
A total of 6 weeks of vacation per year is planned for Degree students and they are permitted to avail the same as two weeks in December and four weeks in May. For DGNM a total of 4 weeks of vacation per year is planned and students are permitted to avail the same as 2 weeks in December and 2 weeks in April / May. Public holidays are as per the rules of the institution. Special leave may be granted by the Principal on prior request from the presents for special occasions. Unauthorized leave will be deemed as absenteeism which will attract disciplinary action.
14. Other Rules
The students are expected to speak in English with courtesy and politeness.
Students should adhere to the professional behavior to mountain and promote the reputation of the institution
Students must be punctual for the classes and clinicals with proper dress code.
Students should complete the pre-requisites to appear for University exam as per the norms.
Students are expected to maintain strict discipline during their studies and should maintain good academic performance
Violation of Rules and Regulations in college, hostel & hospital would result in disciplinary action.
