About Institution

To propagate high quality Technical education and to participate in the noble nation building process with the Indian youngsters; Badal Deb Memorial Educational Foundation has set up Modern Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) in the year 2010, a Degree Engineering College, well in tune with the prescribed national standard. Here, we ceaselessly strive to offer our beloved students, the best possible environment of teaching and learning, sufficient scope to develop their tender mind and soul into knowledge based maturity and come out as a complete human being.

Library

The institute boasts of a well equipped library, which- besides books, journals, magazines & newspapers – houses a 100-seater reading room. Controlled by qualified library staff, the premises are under CCTV surveillance. The current repertoire is 16857 books (1354 titles) for B.Tech. and 2655 books (158 titles) for Polytechnic. Currently books are provided under two schemes i.e. lending and book bank. To get library books students need to produce library card with photo identification duly signed by the concerned authority. In book bank, student gets 5 to 6 books as per the syllabus for an entire semester. If he/she needs reference book(s), he/she must approach through lending scheme and book will be issued on the basis of availability for 15 days. If students do not return the lending book(s) within the due date a fine will be imposed of Rs 5/- per day per book basis. Any short of damage will be taken care off by the borrower. Beyond 15 days the lending book(s) will be reissued for another 15 days and so on.

Laboratories

Our laboratories conform to university norms and are equipped with equipments of the currents standard requirements to provide students practical working knowledge and instill the confidence that augment the theory. We are in the continuous process of equipment up gradation and professional maintenance support to ensure uninterrupted functioning.

Transports

MIET operates its own fleet of buses and cars for the ease of travel from and to Bandel Railway station for students, parents, staff, faculty and guests. These ply at regular intervals during morning and evening hours under strict supervision. Particular attention is paid to cleanliness and maintenance of the fleet to ensure trouble free commute.
