Nalanda International School takes its name and inspiration from the famous Nalanda, the world’s first University in North India with 2000 teachers and 10,000 students from all over South Asia. The School's architect Brinda Somaya has used exposed brick and an environment friendly design which has won international recognition (the LEAF - Leading European Architect's Award in 2006) to inform the architecture of the School.
Nalanda International School is situated on a picturesque 25-acre campus at Sevasi-Mahapura Road, Vadodara, only 8 kms from Alkapuri, the heart of the city. School buses ferry children to and from the school.
Nalanda International School has been established by the Nalanda Knowledge Foundation, a registered, not-for-profit organization which professionally manages the School.
The most important goal of Nalanda International School is to impart quality education that will nurture academic excellence of the highest class. We believe that each child has specific in-born talents and the School’s role is to identify, discover and foster these talents so that the child’s natural gifts are realized to their highest potential.
The school focuses on the overall personality development of the child – the mind for the sciences, the heart for the arts, the physique for sports.
The school will thus strive to offer true education that builds courage, instills self-confidence, values and morals, fosters a sense of responsibility, an understanding of rights and duties and a respect for other points of view.
