Burhanpur being a small city was lacking an English medium school in the nineties. The officers of Burhanpur Tapti Mills, Feroz Sethna Industries and few educated citizens of Burhanpur town got together to find a solution to bring good education for the children of this town. After much reflections and discussion they decided to start an English Medium School which will bring about the development of this town. Meanwhile in 1964 the Kinder- garden section was started in a small building in Feroz Sethna Industries premises with 33 numbers of students and two teachers. The school was named NEHRU MONTESSORI SCHOOL and followed Montessori Method of teaching. On 19th Feb. 1965, The Children's Education Society , Burhanpur was registered. In order to bring up the standard of education the members approached Rt. Rev. Bishop. Francis Simons, Bishop of Indore to get some sisters to run the school. The Bishop got the consent of the Mother General of Congregation of Mother of Carmel (C.M.C.) to work for the betterment of the people of Burhanpur and the Provincial Superior of Thrissur sent 3 sisters to take up the administration and the development of the school under a contract between the Society and the Congregation. Thus on 3rd Nov. 1965 sisters arrived in Burhanpur. The charge of the school was completely handed over to the sisters on Nov. 12th 1965.
