About Institution

Chandgad Taluka (tehsil) is situated on the boundary of Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra at the southern end of Kolhapur district. Khedut Shikshan Mandal is the pioneer institute to start secondary school education the then educationally, socially, economically and politically backward taluka. The people with foresight, establishing this institute, faced many problems but they spread education to all corners by abiding to the ideas of diligence and self-esteem. The students in the area should have access to the higher education was the ambition of the founder member and present Chairman Shri : R. B. Madkholkar and directorial body of the Mandal. The dream was realized through the persistent efforts of the present Chairman Shri: R. B. Madkholkar sir, then secretary Late Shri : S. N. Patil and present Secretary Prof. R. P. Patil Arts Commerce and Science college was established in the year 1997. The college is providing higher education to the children of farmers, layman and downtrodden and the educational scenario of the area got changed. Students from nearly 40 to 45 villages depend for education on this college and every year approximately 250 students complete their graduation. The college runs Marathi, Hindi, English, History and Economics departments under arts faculty; Accountancy and Industrial Management under Commerce faculty and Chemistry and Computer Science under Science Faculty. There are 27 full time teachers, 27 teachers on hour basis and 16 administrative employees serving for the college.
